Edible Landscaping
We are both so excited to finally be moving to a property with the space to grow fruit and berries. We’ve done as much as we can in our current 300 sq ft backyard and are so ready to make this jump (into a hardiness zone higher than ours by the way). That means we can grow peaches and apricots and all sorts of things that can only be grown in the Niagara region of Ontario. Staying true to our vision, we’ve focused on using only native berries and noninvasive fruit trees.
Native Berries
Berry bushes boast beautiful blooms and delicious fruit. We’re planning for a combination of species great for jams and jellies and others for snacking. When you come to visit, we’ll pick small handfuls of this and that as we wander down to the water.

Fruit Trees
These will take years to become plants that will bear substantial fruit. That’s why we want to get started right away. We’ll be shopping in bulk, and getting bundles of 5-10 whips that we can distribute across the property(but not too far!) As you’ll see, many a few require cross-pollination.
