Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions, we have answers! Do you have questions you don’t see listed below? We bet we have answers for those, too! Contact us zajdlikmortonwedding@gmail.com.

Where am I going?

Both the ceremony and reception will be taking place at Steckle Heritage Farm located at 811 Bleams Rd, Kitchener, ON N2E 3X4. Visit our Travel and Accommodation page for all the details. If you require parking, please enter the address 221-205 McIntyre Dr, Kitchener, ON N2R 1K5 into your GPS to be guided to the venue parking lot.

When should I arrive?

We recommend arriving at the venue at 4:00 PM so that you can take in the venue and get settled before the ceremony starts at 4:30PM. Visit our Schedule page for the full itinerary.

What should I wear?

Simply put: Formal, but dress for the venue, the activities and the weather.

The day will consist of a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. There will be (unavoidable) grassy areas, gravel paths and uneven dance floors.

Choose your footwear accordingly.

The indoor space is a beautiful 200 year old barn with original beams, walls and floor. The setting sun will stream through the barn board, as will the cool spring night air.

Bring an extra layer.

We can guarantee you shelter from the rain while you wine, dine and dance however, we cannot protect your 100 meter walk to and from the parking lot.

Bring an umbrella.

What is the parking and transportation situation?

There is onsite, overnight parking at the venue. Vehicles left overnight must be collected by 9:00am the following day.

The parking lot entrance is located at 221-205 McIntyre Dr, Kitchener, ON N2R 1K5. If you enter “Steckle Heritage Farm” into your maps application, you will not be taken to the parking lot!

In the event that several guests book the rooms we have reserved at the Walper Hotel, a shuttle will come to collect these guests at the end of the evening. In this scenario, the shuttle to the hotel will arrive at the venue at 11:45PM to begin boarding. An update will be sent to inform you whether or not the shuttle service will be offered by May 1st. Visit the Travel and Accommodation page for more details.

What type of venue is this?

Indoor and outdoor! Steckle Heritage Farm is an operational homestead farm nestled in the city of Kitchener. It has a beautiful orchard in which the ceremony will take place. The stunning, original 200 year old barn is where dinner and dancing will take place.

We are head over heels in love with the farm and the work they do there. We encourage you to visit their website and social media to learn more before coming to the event. Then you will truly appreciate your surroundings! Visit the Steckle Website.

Is this an accessible venue?

The venue is not fully accessible. There are gravel paths rather than concrete. However, it is mostly wheelchair accessible and that includes wheelchair accessible washrooms. If you require accommodations for a drop-off closer to the barn itself, please contact us so that we can make these arrangements. zajdlikmortonwedding@gmail.com

Is there a specific hotel that other guests will be staying at?

We have reserved a block of hotel rooms at the historic Walper Hotel in downtown Kitchener for Thursday May 30, Friday May 31st and June 1st. These rooms will be offered at a special discounted rate if you book before April 30th. Visit our Travel and Accommodation page for more details and booking instructions.

Can I bring a plus one?

This is a rather tricky topic to navigate. Why do some people get a plus one while others don’t? Some guests know a ton of other people attending while others do not. We want everyone to have a buddy, and as we’re sure you will understand, weddings are $$$$. If your invitation is addressed “Your Name & Guest” we have extended your invitation to include a plus one. We do hope you will understand!

Is there anything else I should know?

Thank you for asking! There are a few things you should be aware of:

This is an operational, and very old farm with animals and children that roam the property. Due to this, there are a few ground rules:

  • There are no open flames permitted on the venue (there is a designated smoking area far, far, far away from the barn.
  • There is no glassware permitted outside of the barn. Plastic cups and compostable plates will be provided for outdoor drinking and eating.
  • There are restricted areas on the property. Before you explore, please wait for the masters of ceremonies to inform you of these areas.

Did we miss anything? Let us know!
